Most properties we are accustomed to in the United States or Canada conform to the building types and designs in a particular area or subdivision. Not so in La Paz and many other parts of Mexico. In La Paz you can have a large beautiful property hidden behind a wall while next door there may be a small house that doubles as a local tienda (small store or beauty shop etc.). This kind of adds to the charm of La Paz. However it makes it very difficult to establish property values in the area. Because of the Malecon and the bay there are very few water front properties here. There are several areas including hill side properties, lots, and developments that offer a view of the bay, downtown or both. To the South of the city in El Comitan and El Centenario there are a few beach front properties available and on the hills to the South of El Centenario there are several developments with view properties available.
